Four more charged in Green Bay-based timeshare scheme

GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Federal charges have been filed against four more people in a timeshare telemarketing fraud scheme based in Green Bay.

The total number of defendants is now at eight with the most recent charged being: 28-year-old Tina Baalman, 36-year-old Jason Schultz, 24-year-old Jessica Gilbert, and 30-year-old Jessica Weinhart.

Prosecutors say the four defrauded people in all 50 states and Canada of more than $2.3 million. From 2007 to 2011, prosecutors allege that victims were told interested buyers were ready to purchase their timeshares in exchange for "administrative fees" ranging from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars.

The U.S. Attorney’s office says the eight suspects operated out of Administrative Timeshare Resales, Integrated Advertising Solutions,  Midwest Timeshares and National Timeshare Resales.

Many of the alleged victims were older and had previously been victimized by similar schemes.

Each defendant faces up to at least 20 years in prison if convicted.
