STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) - There were plenty of golden shovels and clean white hard hats on a construction site in Stevens Point yesterday. Mid-State Technical College had their groundbreaking ceremony at their future location in the old Centerpoint Marketplace mall.
Campus Dean Steve Smith says workers will begin almost immediately to close the opening where the central mall hallway used to be.
MSTC President Dr. Sue Budjac says students in programs like renewable energy will have an opportunity to have some input on building design.
Steve Smith says they’ve already reviewed four possible floor plans for the new campus, but there is still work to do.
MSTC is anticipating completion of construction in fourteen months, with occupancy in January of 2014.
